History:

Much of The Memory's history is unknown.  What is known is that on September 13, 2001 several spirits joined with "the vessel" to become The Memory.  The vessel refers to the body of the man that became The Memory.  His original conciousness and memories were pushed to the subconscience, because what had happened drove him mad.  After spending almost two years in a mental institution he was released and started wandering.  Bringing peace of mind and closure to the spirits of the dead and the living tied to them, he now helps them move on to the next world.  Since then he has travelled the United States.  One unique fact about The Memory is that he doesn't really hide his identity, because he doesn't really know it, he hides the fact that he has "superpowers".  In travelling he tries to show that anyone can do what he does.  He wants people to know what they are capable of, if they put their hearts in the right place.  He however doesn't hide it from other supers.

 

Powers:

Spirit Beacon - He doesn't sense ghosts, they sense him.

 

The Joining - The ghosts may choose to join with the collective that is The Memory. Their memories are

shared with the collective and the memories of the collective are shared with them.  This leaves him with

an amazing amount of knowledge, trivial and useful.  When a spirit moves on, their memories are left

behind, so releasing a spirit does not cause him to loose knowledge.

 

Energy absorbing - The vessel's blood is acidic and functions as a battery.  This is what allows the

spirits to join with him. However, as an added side effect he can absorb electricity and other types of

energy, increasing his power temporarily.

 

EMF - Because of the high amount of energy within the "vessel" The Memory constantly emits an electro-

magnetic field.  He can never turn it off, but he can increase its power with absorbed energy.  This also

disrupts any video recording or photography when he is in the area.

 

EM Pulse - He can direct an electromagnetic pulse at will, disabling nearby electronics.  The power of

this ability also increases with absorbed energy.

 

Emotional/Memory transfer - With just a touch, he can make you feel however he wants you to feel.  This

is done by transfering the memory of this feeling. Whether or not he can transfer "actual" memories is

unknown as of yet.

 

Heightened senses - He is incredibly aware of everything around him.  If you've ever heard the phrase

"if I only had a second set of eyes", well, he ALWAYS has a second set of eyes, this goes for all of his senses

too. This isn't really a power, so much as, a side effect of the joining.

 

Weaknesses:

Not all the spirits that join with The Memory are "nice".  If they are passionate enough about what they

want to do, they can take control of the vessel.

He is also far too trusting, he often puts his faith in people that don't deserve it.
