History:

Short Circuit was born and raised in a small desert town. (Yuma, AZ) As a child, she was often confused with her emotions; her family life left much to be desired. Her mother, feeling as though she had no options, left her with her father, who was gruff at best. She turned inwards and spent much time alone. As time went by and she aged, her eyes began to open to the problems of the world around her. There was too much pain, too many parent-less children, too much violence. She knew she needed to do her part, but didn’t know how.

 

A few months after her 21st birthday, a huge sand storm hit her town. She was on her way home, just as the winds began to pick up. Visibilty on the main road was very low, so she had to keep focused on the tail lights of tthe car infront of her. Suddenly, she noticed the lights swirving...rolling...She  pulled to the side of the road and fought back the wind as she struggled to reach where the car lay, tipped onto its roof. She ran to the vehicle and tried to look inside. The family- a woman and her daughter were dazed, the woman was bleeding. She knew then what she must do. Mustering all her strength, she pulled the crumpled door open and began to try and rouse the woman. Sleepily she came to and immediatley began to panic. "Where was her daughter? What had happened? Who was this tyring to pull her from their vehicle?" Short Circuit calmed the woman, and helped her out of the vehicle. She went back in to get the woman's daughter.

Just as she had pulled her out, she heard a loud, Crack! She had just enough time to hear the snap, turn to face it and push the child from her before the power line hit her full on in the chest. That's when the world went black.

She awoke in a dark room. Her body felt heavy, spent. She then remembered the cable, the pain, the power.  How had she not died?

 

Hovering in the shadows of the room was a man, he stepped into the light and she could see that he looked at her strangley. He introduced himself as the "Father" of the church.  They then talked for some length about what had happened and as she left, he handed her a necklace made of fine copper. He explained that it had been passed down for hundreds of years-and he was giving it to her. He had been told, as all those that can before him were, that when the true owner of the necklace was found, they were to give it to them. After witnessing what he had, he knew that it had to be her.

Over the course of the next few months, she came to realize that she had a power inside of her that she never could have imagined.

 

 

Powers / Equipment:

She has the ability to create balls of energy that she can hurl at her enemies.

She has the ability to concentrate small amounts of energy, that allow her to levitate, not only herself but some things around her.

She has the ability to control an energy rope through the use of a bracelet she fashioned from Copper.

She has the ability to control devices that require electricity due to the current that runs through her body.

The shock of the electricity going through her, altered her biorythems and ultimately heightened her healing ability.

 

Can perform "Power Surge" if she is close to death or in serious harm. She goes into an altered mental state as her body takes over, drawing lightning out of the sky and into the person hurting her. It leaves her severly weakened and so she must keep firm control of herself at all times.

 Extreme cold (30 or below)
