History:

DreamWeaver worked as a librarian for a large university, dedicated to his job and also dedicated to finding new and rare books. Upon taking inventory of the rare books one day, he found that there was a new one that he had never heard of, or procured for the university. The book was old and dusty, noting really to note. It's spine simply read, "A Brief History of the World", and there was a lack of an author. When he opened the book to read it, he was shocked to find all of it's pages were blank! Just as he was about to go back to the circulation desk and attempt to look it up, the book began to glow in his hands and the gray cover began to disintegrate and reveal the black and gold cover that was hiding underneath it. A red energy rewrote the title on the spine of his book right before his eyes, and renamed it "The Grimoire of Destiny". The golden light proceeded from the book to also encompass him, changing his clothes into golden robes and changing his glasses to ornate golden frames. A new language filled his mind, and while he did not know the title of it, he knew how to speak in it and, more importantly, how to write it.

Holding out his gloved hand in his new attire, the world shimmered for a brief moment and a golden quill came out of the world, produced by a red light. The quill contains no ink, but has the power to write on one very important surface - the pages of the grimoire. Confused by all of this, DreamWeaver was about to drop the book, when he realized that it wouldn't leave his gloved hand. It stayed open to the first page, and wouldn't come off with all his tugging or pullling. Eventually, the page began to write itself, and began to tell him what it really was...

Appearance: DreamWeaver is about 5' 11" in height, and very thin, only weighing in at about 130-135 pounds. When appearing as DreamWeaver, he wears ornate golden robes with a black undertone, highly decorated in unreadable runic symbols. Around his neck is a intricately carved ruby held by a gold necklace, and his robes are accompanied by a golden cloak, also covered in the same runes on the outside and black on the inside. His robe's collar arches up to the middle of the back of his head, and fans out a bit around his neck, coming to elegant points around the front. His thin face is accented with ornate antique gold glasses, the lenses being tinted red, like his ruby. DreamWeaver professes that he can see the world differently than others, hence the color of his lenses. His brown hair comes down close to his ears, the front of it usually falling across his left eye, hiding it from view.

Powers / Equipment: The Destiny Grimoire

- The Destiny Grimoire has had over 50 owners since it's creation in Medieval Europe. Most of them have held different names, but the past 25 or so have come up with the term "DestinyWeaver" or "DreamWeaver" to explain their power. While the creation method of the book is unknown, the book itself professes that the circumstances to create another one cannot occur, as it would upset the balance of time and space. If the book was destroyed, then the circumstances would reappear, as the book needs to be in existence to keep the power of fate in check.

- Destroying the Destiny Grimoire is a very complex process; one that begins with the death of it's current possessor. Past that, the ritual is unknown. While the book is in the hands of a mortal, it cannot be destroyed or damaged in any way. This makes it very useful for blocking bullets, fire, lasers, you name it. While the user is not immortal, the book certainly is. This same property goes with the quill. If the quill is ever separated from the Grimoire and/or DreamWeaver by 500 feet or more, it will appear back in the pocket, coat, hat, or hand of the DreamWeaver like it was always there. The DreamWeaver can also summon the Quill to his hand at any time, and the quill can be used to summon the Grimoire. This frees the DreamWeaver from having to carry the Grimoire everywhere.

- All of the adventures and lives of the past users are kept in the memory of the book, and can be recalled by the current DreamWeaver simply by asking for that information on the first page with the Golden Quill.

- The DreamWeaver believes that he/she is writing in the Grimoire in his natural language (in this case, English) but is truly writing in the Grimoire's language. Anyone else who sees him/her write in the book will see the runic and elaborate language of the Grimoire on its pages, while he/she will only see their native tongue.

- The main abilities of the book include being able to change anything in reality. Yes, this power is overblown to epic proportions, even the current DreamWeaver realizes this. However, this immense power has lead 12 DreamWeavers in the past to their demise, due to greed, lust, search for more power, etc. The Grimoire defines "demise" as both death and/or insanity. Under both of these conditions is the book released from the current DreamWeaver to seek out a new one. Because of this, the current DreamWeaver has vowed to never manipulate life, any version thereof, or create any objects/life. He simply uses the Grimoire to re-write simple aspects of his surroundings to accomplish his objectives, which are never personal. He believes that the book should be used for the greater good, not for his own benefit. (Unless that benefit is, of course, staying alive and not letting the book fall into the wrong hands.) But, even in the most dire situations, he will never use the book to target life, manipulate life, or destroy life. He may be dying, and he will not use the book to kill his greatest foe. This can be his weakness.

- The Grimoire can never run out of pages. While it never gets thinner or thicker, it just never seems to run out of blank pages. You can keep turning the pages forever, and never reach the end. Likewise, the ink of the Golden Quill cannot be erased from the pages by any means. The pages cannot become wet, so the DreamWeaver can use it underwater or in other uncomfortable positions. The ink on the pages remains black until the DreamWeaver writes the command to activate the sentence, in which case it burns with a red energy and removes itself.

- While preparing a sentence, the DreamWeaver is VERY noticable. He will ignite with a red aura, and the runic language of the Grimoire will begin to write itself in a circle around his feet while the wind kicks up around him. Other runes will begin to write themselves in mid air, and fly with a red energy around him. Upon the activation of a sentence, the runes will sink into the earth, sending out red energy into whatever they are affecting.

Weaknesses:

As stated above, he will never use the book to manipulate, target, or harm life, or use it to benefit himself unless it, in turn, benefits another.  Because of this, he can be put in situations where he may choose death over saving himself with his powers.
