Hero's Background story:

All his life Dean blended in and watched; to insecure to step and get involved.  During his senior year, after watching his classmates interact and function in their daily lives for three years he began to see patterns in their behavior.  Eventually he saw more than just patterns, but he subconciously form complex algorithms that predicted what they would do.  This ability grew and expanded to include everything around him.  It wasn't until he wasn't almost done with college that he began to figure out how to solve for all the potential outcomes for any situation in any place.  Knowing what would happen if to those in trouble if a new variable wasn't added to the equation, Dean dawned the persona of Codex and finally entered the equation of life.

Dean sees the order of the world, to the point that his mind has evolved to read the math, or the code, of everything around him.  This ability allows him to calculate any outcome depending on the variables involved, including himself.

 The lack of order.
